I’m a quitter! Day 4.

I just realized how Bridget Jones Diary that “cigarette count” thing was, so…

Let’s just say I’m closing in on my last cigarette of all time, which will happen tomorrow.

And if I may be completely self-aggrandizing for un moment: I’m a singer, and the difference I’ve noticed in my voice just in the past few days, cutting my smoking down by 80% or more…WOW. I can only imagine what it will be like after a week, a month, a year without constant smoke all over my vocal chords…and that’s exciting.

  1. I have not smoked in 11 months. I too am a singer, and I can tell you my voice sounds so much better. YOu gain more control of notes when you don’t smoke!

I am cheering for ya! If there is anything I can do to support your effort to quit please tell me.

I will also admit, I did a cable access TV show yesterday and mentioned you. I talked about your quiting smoking and meeting needs at less cost. I wonder if you have thought about your needs? What needs is smoking meeting for you? How could those needs be met at less cost?

Thousands of viewers in Rhode Island PBS and Cable Access are now asking those questions thanks to your story about quiting…..

  2. I also want to share this with you….it is me…..

  3. Danke for the support.

I actually think I’m going to go ahead and fucking quit tonight.

There are like 2 in the pack out in the car, and it’s a gorgeous night, and there are a couple beers in the fridge.

I should go outside on the porch with a beer and say night-night to the smoking forever.

  4. Oh, and I don’t think smoking has been meeting a certain “need” as much as it’s been standing as the constant excuse to procrastinate in bettering myself and my life in other ways.

Hence, the cigarettes need to die forever.
