“Father Lucifer”
Tori Amos performing “Father Lucifer” on David Letterman in 1996.
1. Because I love this song.
2. Because I’m in the mood for this song.
3. Because Someone posted it on Facebook, and it got me a-watching.
I really love it when Tori sort of loses focus 2/3 of the way through a song and just takes it in a whole new direction…

She’s insane, like really insane. What’s that song even about??
lol…singing about Satan (I think??)…then using the Exorcist theme part way through…now that’s classic. I think she really is crazy though…like…she has those “I’m crazy and I know it/don’t care” looks. She plays and sings well enough though.
She’s nuts. Yup.

Nah, she’s not nuts.
Lucifer & Satan aren’t the same character, remember. Don’t let them conflate the two like they like to do in church.
But that song was written after an ayahuasca trip where she met and danced with Lucifer.
So there you have it.
Oh, it’s a fabulous song. Fabulous record, actually.
