Tom Brokaw interviews Barack Obama, fails miserably
Seriously, what a joke. Earth to Tom Brokaw: Quoting an entire David Brooks column (David Brooks?!?! Whose opinion is more irrelevant than David Brooks’? Oh yeah — Charles Krauthammer’s.) and then looking at Barack Obama like a buzzard is not “interviewing.” You are (supposedly) better than this, Brokaw.
Analysis from Crooks and Liars:
McCain’s Media is up in arms over the backfire of McCain’s challenge to Obama to go to Iraq. Obama went, he saw, he conquered Europe. That has to smart after spending the last seven years telling Americans that the French were sissies to compensate for their sneering of our foreign policy. Tom Brokaw, interim host of Meet the Press, is apparently an elder statesman of the McCain Media, since his choice to confront Obama is nothing less than citing once again those foreign policy “experts” of Charles Krauthammer and David Brooks. Remind me again, when have they been right about anything in this Iraqi invasion and occupation? Oh yeah, NEVER. Naturally, that’s who Brokaw should choose as the framing for his questions accusing Obama of being a little light on the specifics in his Berlin speech. What, you’ve never heard of EJ Dionne or Paul Krugman? How hard is it to even occasionally acknowledge a pundit from the other side of the aisle? Why on earth do they continue to give so much gravitas to pundits who have been so tragically and disgustingly wrong every step of the way? [Bill Kristol is still employed, too! - Ed.]
As Obama rightfully points out, a 200K crowd in a foreign country is hardly the venue in which you pull out your inner wonkiness to get deep in the weeds of specific policies. Be honest, Brokaw, Brooks and Krauthammer whined about it because that’s all they had. If Obama had been specific, they’d whine about that too.
And if it is specifics you seek, where the hell is the media in asking McCain for specifics when he floats his “victory in Iraq” and “we are winning” memes every other sentence? I’ve been waiting for years for someone to explain to me what “winning” means in an occupation.
Haha, the media’s not going to ask Jammakain any real questions! He got shot down and captured and that means he doesn’t actually have to think his policy positions through, didn’t you know that? That would be journalism and Tom Brokaw isn’t a journalist!

Lord have mercy, how I miss Tim Russert. Tom Brokaw
came off as a buzzard honing in for a kill. What does Mr
Obama have to do to get accorded the same respect and do
diligence McCain gets. Why is it they keep calling him arrogant I think they see him as an uppity black man beating them at their own game. McCain keeps saying he fought for the surge guess what. IracQ was not respondsible for 9/11 he wants to leave with honor. Its a llttle to late for that thousands of our troops and Iracqs have died. So that Cheneys Halliburton Corporation could make billions. This is the frist War the military has had to answer to cilvilians we don’t even know how many of them have been lost. what I do know is that a crime against

The only thing McCain can talk about is the war the war the war. Since when does being held as a POW give anyone the EXPERIENCE to run a country? He admittedly doesn’t “know much about the economy. ” If by hook or crook McCain happens to get in office, God help us all!
