Hey Nikki Tinker, about your latest ad: (UPDATED)

You’re a bitch, you’re unqualified for the position you seek, you’re running against a white Jewish progressive man who has done more for the black community in Memphis, a territory you cannot call home with any shred of dignity, than you have done or ever will do, you’re treating the black citizens of Memphis like stereotypes, and that’s why black business leaders are calling press conferences and condemning your cynical power-hungry ass. You seem to believe that black voters are too stupid to vote based on issues, and that they’ll vote for you just because you’re black. It’s funny…I guess that’s why predominantly black neighborhoods (AND predominantly white neighborhoods) remain filled with Steve Cohen signs. Perhaps black voters are smarter than you think, Nikki Tinker. (Of course they are.) Just like this white voter will pull the lever in November for a black president and a white Jewish Congressman, so will tens of thousands of Memphis voters, black, white, and every other color.

You, Ms. Tinker, will continue to be a loser, and you can vote for whoever the fuck you want.

/local issue rant.

Hey, guess which candidate prominent black civil rights leaders are endorsing? Not Nikki Tinker! I wonder why.

Here’s the ad. God, she’s nuts:

Here’s more about how Nikki Tinker quietly allowed her campaign to be bolstered by a widely distributed flyer that paints Steve Cohen as a “Jesus-hater” and says that Memphis has to be represented by a “black Christian.”

GRRR.

The ad Tinker ran right before this one was insanely offensive, as it juxtaposed Steve Cohen with Klan leaders burning a cross, which is really gross because you have to be a completely uneducated adult retarded child to fail to realize that the Klan hates Jews, too, you stupid moron. Tinker’s accusation in this ad, that Cohen didn’t want to rename Forrest Park (named after Nathan Bedford Forrest) for racist reasons was refuted by, haha, Memphis’s black mayor, Willie Herenton.

So here’s that ad:

Myron Lowery, a city councilman and Cohen supporter (who is also black…none of the influential black people in Memphis support Tinker, seriously), reacted to the above ad in this way:

“For this ad to come up at the last minute is an attempt to divide this community racially. And this community isn’t going to be divided. We’re all in favor of our congressman, Steve Cohen,” said Myron Lowery, the longtime city councilman who, at the time off the most recent Forrest Park controversy, floated a compromise proposal for adding anti-slavery exhibits to the grounds of Forrest Park.

Cohen has “focused on the issues,” said Lowery. “He has not attempted to divide this community racially. He has always brought this community together.” That’s why the group was supporting Cohen and denouncing the “racial politics” of the Tinker ad, Lowery said.

Hint to all wingnuts on a national level who think Obama is “playing the race card”: This is what “playing the race card” actually looks like. Not whatever wingnut fantasy you have in your head that says that if Obama so much as alludes to the color of his skin that he’s somehow “playing the race card.”

Bonus: Here’s a column written by Memphis columnist Wendi Thomas (also black), in response to Tinker’s whiny refusal to participate in a debate if Thomas was one of the questioners. Nikki was scared that Wendi Thomas would ask her hard questions. Thomas is one of those columnists that people either agree with or vehemently disagree with, and one’s position on Thomas’s writing can change daily depending on her subject matter. But as one commenter put it, when Wendi Thomas is on, she’s on. Money quote:

Like it or not — and trust me, Tinker doesn’t like it — Cohen has a track record on civil rights and issues that affect people of color that’s admirable.

Haha. Italics mine. That’s the problem with Tinker’s cynical campaign — she’s running against a man whose record is impeccable, and she thinks voters are going to throw that all away just because she’s black. (?!?!) Um, Alan Keyes is black. Condoleezza Rice is black. Ask 95% of black voters how they feel about those those two.

If you’re a Memphis voter, the primary is tomorrow. Go vote against Nikki Tinker and for Steve Cohen, thanks.

Oh, and Nikki, one last thing: If you somehow, with your cynical anti-Semitic dominionist advertising and racially dividing antics, squeak by Steve Cohen tomorrow, this Obama supporter will NOT be supporting you in the fall, and I’ll encourage others to do the same. Democratic numbers in the House will be strong enough without your unqualified voice and vote.

UPDATE: HOW FITTING. I just got an e-mail from the Cohen campaign that Keith Olbermann declared Nikki Tinker the Worst Person in the World on his show tonight. Hi-fucking-larious! I’ll post the video when it’s available.
