Maverickette Sarah Palin ran criminal Ted Stevens’ 527!
Sarah Palin, the gift that just keeps giving!
Haha:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began building clout in her state’s political circles in part by serving as a director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens.
Palin’s name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the “Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.,” a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings.
Yglesias points out:
Meanwhile, John McCain officially thinks 527s should be abolished.
And Wonkette finishes off the kill:
TH-THAT’S NOT CH-CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN: Ha ha, maverick reformer Sarah Palin ran incredibly corrupt indicted-Senator Ted Stevens’ corporate fund-raising 527. Ha ha ha ha.
Bwhahaha.

I suggest you do your homework before you make any further unsubstantiated attacks at Sarah Palin’s involvement in the Excellence in Public Service Series, or continue to spread the netlore surrounding this.
The 527 you refer to is NOT Ted Steven’s 527. He is not on the board of the the 527, nor is he a founder. It was simply named after him, long before any questionable activity came into play.
There are Excellence in Public Service Series Leadership programs for Republican women in many states. All of the state programs are named after living or dead Republican leaders. Please refer to Indiana’s Lugar Series website for the history of the the programs: http://www.lugarseries.org/expansion.php
Sarah Palin’s connection as Director of the Alaskan Series would have no ethical wrongdoing whatsoever as it pertains to Ted Stevens other than the program had his name on it. Period.

Except that he’s corrupt, and we know from a gazillion other stories that she’s phenomenally corrupt.
So, there’s that. This is maybe #100th in importance.
You people can try all you want, but she’s a Typical Republican. Abuses power, thinks the rules don’t apply to her, and she’s also that SPECIAL kind of Republican who thinks that Jesus rode a dinosaur into Jerusalem.
So…yeah.
