OHHH, now I get it!

It’s been pissing me off all night how the retarded Republicans in the convention hall have been thwapping their paws together and booing every time somebody made fun of Barack Obama for being a community organizer, and I just assumed it was because they were fucking stupid and didn’t know what a community organizer is. But, thanks to Wonkette’s live-blog of Sarah Palin’s speech, I get it now:

9:43 PM — Ha ha, community organizers help dirty negroes, but mayors of 6,000-population help white people.

You have to hand it to racists, I mean Republicans — they certainly do come up with creative ways to let their bigotry shine! For more about Republicans and their adorable biases, go here. (I’ve already linked to that once today, but it’s worth another link. It’s that good.)

  1. oh man I thought maybe it was just me that was hearing all that veiled, vile racism. Ye gods Giuliani just completely creeped me out and I was thinking “just say it for real dude, everything you’re not saying but are dying to!” How embarrassing for America. Palin is scary. A lot of people connect with her. Bet they wish she was running for Prez instead of McCain!

  2. Yes, but:

It will be different when her audience isn’t just Republican delegate mouthbreathers who don’t respond to those racist dogwhistles.

The speech was written for her, remember, before she was even chosen.

I have a feeling the debates will be VERY different.

  3. Why do liberals always resort to name calling? They can’t make any points without being disingenuous. Pat Buchanan was called a racist without any proof. Now it’s Sarah Palin’s turn to be called names. Just throw the accusations out there and maby they will stick. That is the way liberals do things to promote socialism.
Liberals are angry because they can no longer spew their lies without being called on them. The only bigots I see are them calling names without basis. Barack Obama, peace be upon him, was a community organizer. That is his claim to fame. Live with it.

  4. Yes, Dennis, “maby” something will stick.

A hint for your future arguments, Dennis — the first person to accuse the other of “socialism” loses. Also, Dennis? Define socialism without a dictionary, and name at least two different kinds. (Huh, thar’s more than one? Goldarnit, ah don’t a-want-a none-a yore trick questions!)

    Dennis?

Yew also don’t know what a community organizer, do yew? Define “community organizer,” Dennis.

Now do all-a these things without a banjo in your hand. Yew Cain’t!

As to Pat Buchanan’s racism, he says racist things EVERY TIME he’s on MSNBC, so don’t be a moron. But here are some examples that, if you don’t also find them racist, mean you’re a scaredy white racist too:

“The War Between the States was about independence, about self-determination, about the right of a people to break free of a government to which they could no longer give allegiance,” Buchanan asserted. “How long is this endless groveling before every cry of ‘racism’ going to continue before the whole country collectively throws up?”

    or…

In a memo to President Nixon, Buchanan suggested that “integration of blacks and whites — but even more so, poor and well-to-do — is less likely to result in accommodation than it is in perpetual friction, as the incapable are placed consciously by government side by side with the capable.” (Washington Post, 1/5/92)

    or…

Buchanan has repeatedly insisted that President Reagan did so much for African-Americans that civil rights groups have no reason to exist: “George Bush should have told the [NAACP convention] that black America has grown up; that the NAACP should close up shop, that its members should go home and reflect on JFK’s admonition: ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather ask what you can do for your country.’” (syndicated column, 7/26/88)

    or…

Trying to justify apartheid in South Africa, he denounced the notion that “white rule of a black majority is inherently wrong. Where did we get that idea? The Founding Fathers did not believe this.”

    or…

In a September 1993 speech to the Christian Coalition, Buchanan described multiculturalism as “an across-the-board assault on our Anglo-American heritage.”

    or…

Writing of “group fantasies of martyrdom,” Buchanan challenged the historical record that thousands of Jews were gassed to death by diesel exhaust at Treblinka: “Diesel engines do not emit enough carbon monoxide to kill anybody.” (New Republic, 10/22/90) Buchanan’s columns have run in the Liberty Lobby’s Spotlight, the German-American National PAC newsletter and other publications that claim Nazi death camps are a Zionist concoction.

That’s just a FEW examples from ONE website that has collected Pat Buchanan’s various scared-ass pussy-white rantings.

  5. [...] famously explained, you can’t say “nigger, nigger, nigger” anymore, so this dig essentially means, “community organizers help nigras, small-town mayors help whites.” So, in the interest [...]

  6. I have decided, that for this presidential election, I’m going to base my decision for president on something very stupid and trivial just like evangelicals. I’m going to vote for the candidate that I think is more likely to pop an erection at any given random time. I’m pretty sure thats Sen. Obama, although I could be wrong and I’m open to hearing arguments against my hypothesis. The reason I’m doing this is because it worked for the evangelicals in ‘00 and ‘04, (I was living in DC in ‘04 and had to watch first hand the evangelicals ruin everything I love and care for in this country), and I figured it would work again for a guy I actually like. Someone who is intelligent enough to handle the job; sorry Kerry, you couldn’t even beat the dumbest man I’ve ever seen speak in front of more than ten people. I was erect with happiness this year with the thwarting of the Evangelicals because Mike Huckabee couldn’t beat “Walnuts.” (I really like that nickname) Although, I don’t think Evangelicals are impotent…. ah em (Ted Haggard). From what I hear, meth is a religious experience.

  7. Yes I also am very much looking forward to the debates. I think between Obama and McCain, Obama will clearly come out on top, unless maybe McCain wears one of those ear plugs with his advisers feeding him answers. The Palin/Biden debate is going to be huge and I can’t even guess what will happen there. Biden does not fill me with any confidence at all. Why oh why didn’t Obama go with Hillary?

The problem is that Palin will answer the questions to her viewpoints, and while those of us with education and awareness will be cringing in horror, her huge base of evangelicals whose primary interest is in forcing their religion and views on the rest of us will be cheering and having parties. The urban centers and educated tend to be on the left but those many insulated folks who have never left their rural environment or been exposed to other ideas and cultures are not as able to see the larger or wider effects that Palin’s actions and their own will have on anyone or thing beyond the boundaries of their own small towns, and especially on an international and global level.

This is not saying those people are stupid and I don’t like the left leaning who intimate as much. There is a difference between stupid and uneducated. I have plenty of uneducated friends who are very bright indeed. But the rurals are more isolated from other perspectives than the urbans and often haven’t the benefit of being able to see things from many perspectives or to mingle and befriend people from other cultures and regions on as wide a scale as those who live in urban melting pots. They are not stupid, just looking at the world through blinders that only lets them see their own path.

But there are so many of these rurals across America. These are the people more prone to excessive breeding. Higher education usually means fewer children. That means there’s a lot of them, which gives them voting power, which is a scary thing. They are also more prone to make their decisions based on sound bites and religious affiliations rather than doing extensive research on the issues and voting records of the candidates.

Before you say I’m an urban who knows nothing about rural America, let me divulge that I have lived in big urban centers for many years but got tired of the rat race and moved and have now lived in a tiny rural town of less than 20k population for many years, and have made a lot of first hand observations. Which is why I won’t come down on the rurals as being stupid or backwards, because I also see that they are hard working people who are, like you and me, only sticking up for their beliefs and values. Just that those beliefs and values have been formed under very insular conditions, whereas many of ours have been formed with the advantage of exposure to many different cultures and experiences, so we have had more information on which to base our own beliefs and values.
