George Allen is still around, apparently, and also still stupid.

I always just assumed that disgraced racist former Republican senators just kind of withered away, but apparently George Allen is still around, and he’s as dumb as he always was:

Today on Laura Ingraham’s radio show, former Virginia [senator] George Allen (R) scoffed at claims that Americans are addicted to oil, calling it “an elitist point of view.” Allen insisted it was freedom, not oil, that Americans were actually addicted to:

ALLEN: I love that statement, America is addicted to oil. What an elitist point of view. Americans are not addicted to oil. Americans are addicted to freedom — the freedom and liberty to move where and when we want.

You can’t even make fun of him, because he went ahead and wrote the joke for you.  Think Progress also points out that this asinine statement puts him at odds with George W. Bush and Arnold Schwarzenegger, members of his party who actually still have their jobs.  I think it’s so funny, too, that “elitist” has become the catch-all smackdown that stupid wingnuts use against, um, everybody who’s smarter than them.  George Allen and his ilk truly view their undeveloped minds as badges of honor, don’t they?

Haha, I still remember that night when George Allen lost his job.  It was hi-larious.

You can listen to George Allen’s leaking word hole at the Think Progress link.
